I am involved in a Halloween swap on scrapbook.com. I just wanted to share a couple of items I made for the swap! Plus, I have been M.I.A. for quite awhile...been busy, busy, busy and oh-so-very-bad at updating my blog.
This first image is some matchbooks I made. The spiders were handmade with pom poms and chenille stems. They are so very cute and fun to make! The insides were filled with assorted scrappy Halloween goodies.
Who doesn't love this cute little monster image? I adore this Franky stamp I got from Big Lots for only 50 cents! The background of this tag was crumpled, mini misted, and inked with TH Distress Inks in Dusty Concord, Spiced Marmalade, and Black Soot. The flowers at the bottom are handmade and inked in black to make them more "spooky".
And finally, my first ATC's. On the SCS website, our swap was required to use the blasted stickles technique somewhere on the ATC. Man, they were so fun to make but extremely messy! I had glitter glue on the table, my hands, and even my hair!
Thanks for dropping by! I do appreciate you taking the time to peek at my blog! Good day everyone!

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
I'm not talking about Christmas either! The school year has approached its ending and passed and unbelievably, I was ready to go with end of the year teachers' gifts for my children to give their teachers. I decided to make a gift that was not only cute, but functional as well.
This is what I came up with:
The teachers all loved them. One of them told me that she had received one a few years back and used it so much, it is falling apart. She was so happy to receive a new one that was usable and intact!
Happy Memorial Day! I hope you and your family have an extremely fun and safe holiday!

What Happened To My Creativity?
Going to school full-time leaves me with not much of "me" time. Now that the semester is over, I have almost 4 full months with nothing to do, other than a couple of swaps I joined over at scrapbook.com. I am waiting on an order from J's before I can begin. I have also started making flowers to sell in my shophandmade.com store. I wanted to post things that were different from the norm. I have sold a few of my fan flowers, and since they were the most popular, I wanted to make a different variation of them. I combined the infamous 6-petal punch rose with my fan flowers and came up with these...
I think they are pretty darn cute. Finished them off with some Stickles and voila! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Challenging My Masculine Side
Okay, I can admit that I am a little bit of a girly girl. I love Coach purses and will only buy my makeup from a department store. However, there is a boyish side of me too. Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone! I love to go fishing. There is something about being surrounded by quiet, serene wilderness and hearing the sounds of the water lapping on the bottom of the boat. I love the outdoors.
However, I absolutely can NOT make a decent masculine card. I look through galleries for inspiration, but I can't seem to be able to get through my fat brain how to go about creating a DECENT card for a male. Lo and behold, the time comes to make a birthday card for my uncle. Shoot. Now what? I peruse galleries for hours. Nothing. I look through magazines. Nada. Zilch. Zip.
Back to the drawing board. I finally decided to just try. Sit down and glue some paper together. This is my end result. Honestly, I must say, I don't think it came out THAT bad!

National Scrapbook Day
Well, I'm a day late to post this, but I was so busy yesterday playing along with the challenges hosted by Scrapbook.com, and so I didn't have time to do anything else, except scrap a page for the All Day Challenge they hosted. The theme was to scrap about why I scrap. This is my take on the challenge:
Supplies Used:
Colorbok paper (background)
American Crafts Thickers
American Crafts letter stickers (black)
DCWV papers (scraps)
EK Success journaling pens (pink)
All of the flowers are handmade. I mix and matched orange and pink papers in the flowers to match the background.
I had a really fun day! I even won a prize pack for completing a challenge! I am so excited to receive my new goodies!
Thank you SB.com for a wonderful, fun NSD!

Flower Pot Card
I was asked by my boyfriend to make "thank you" cards for his assistants at work. They are both female; one being a fellow scrapbooker. I decided to try out the Flower Pot card using the tutorial found on splitcoast stampers youtube channel.
This is what I came up with:
Supplies Used:
Fiskars border punch
Wausau cardstock
Prima flowers
Recollections brads
Martha Stewart ribbon
Patterned paper from stash
I had a blast making this one! I have one more to make and I can't wait to get started!
Have a great day!

WOW! I Have Finally Started My Blog!
So, I started this blog over a year ago. I never intended to actually USE it. Don't ask me why; I guess it is because I just like to be able to follow other people's blogs, but now I have decided to maintain my own.
Let me start out with a little info about me:
I am a mother of five (yes, 5!) beautiful girls, ranging from ages 8 to 5 months old.
I am a full-time college student, at the age of 28, going to school to become an elementary school teacher.
I have the most loving and supportive boyfriend who has been there for me through very tough times in my life.
I love to scrapbook and am in need of making more time to do it!
The layout that I posted above was completed for EsteeLynn's number challenge over at scrapbook.com. It was very easy peasy, using some acrylic paints to make the background, and the Fiskars threading water punch to make the border on the photo mat. I also colored in the vinyl Thickers using Bic Mark-It markers. I really like this layout. I think it turned out really cute!
Have a great week!
